Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s office, armed with a search warrant, conducted a search of the Putnam Valley home of Alex Amoroso and seized multiple electronic devices on April 19. The investigators continued the investigation and on May 18, Amoroso was arrested on an arrest warrant when he exited his residence.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation into the online sharing of images and videos of child sexual abuse material.
Amoroso was charged with eight counts of possessing obscene sexual performance by a child and eight counts of promoting obscene sexual performance by a child, both felonies.
He was arraigned in front of Judge Louis DiCarlo in the Town of Putnam Valley Court and remanded to the Correctional Facility without bail pending a future court date.
